Help Move Apps to SD - NOT Rooted

It's the operating system. Different roms are different versions or iterations of android you can install

These are just the cut down steps from Williams guide. It should work no idea why it wouldn't but I don't support it. He has a thread in tips and trucks if you want to read it

sorry but it didnt work for me. The commands work and it took everything but when I downloaded apps they still went to memory and I cant manually go in and move the ones that I did have installed. I did reboot the phone.

What message does it return when you type 'pm setInstallLocation 2' ??

For some reason I had to type it a couple of times before it worked properly.

it rattled off a bunch of code or commands, about 10-15 lines or so in the command box so I assumed it took. It hasnt changed the location apps are downloaded to my phone though.

I really want to root, but i haven't got a clue about all this rom milarky, and I don't want to loose sense cause I quite like it!

Michelle, I think there are official roms (someone correct me if I am wrong, it is early and I haven't had my second coffee yet) out there, ie just as HTC puts it out .. with Sense and all. :) But I'll leave it to those with either a) more coffee b) more knowledge to explain the innards of that all :)

You are absolutely correct even sans coffee!

Michelle needs to head over to the rooting forum, read mine and SUroot's sigs and then go here to chose a rom!

Thanks guys... I'm going to have more coffee, tidy house then get my head round this rooting milarky and hopefully conquer it! No doubt I'll be back

I replied to the other thread, but I've tried this version as well and in the command box I get "The system cannot find the path specified" but also, I can't get the HTC Sync to work at all. My phone has just been back for repair for the reboot problem, and as far as I can tell from the accompanying letter, now has the most up-to-date software available. I've even switched back from Firefox to Explorer because I know Firefox doesn't like allowing downloads all the time, and I originally did this to my phone on Explorer. But no joy.

I had completely forgotten about this till the warning about lack of space popped up. Any suggestions?

Edit: just tried again and this time, it got as far as last command but then won't recognise "pm setinstalllocation 2".
'"PM is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file"'

If you can't find the path specified you haven't downloaded from my link. On newer versions its in platform tools, not tools
