Hi all, newbie to the site but been an android user for 18 months.

Just recently upgraded to the S2 from a HTC Desire and there are a few things i liked/could do on the desire which i would like to do on S2 if anyone could help/point me in right direction:

1. Keyboard - i had the compact qwerty on desire (2 letters per 'key') how can i get this on S2?

2. Email - i synced my hotmail, gmail and work outlook to my desire which i have done on S2. What i liked on desire was i had a separate 'home page' for my work stuff including outlook sync email, sync calendar and 'up coming events'. The upcoming events on my S2 only looks at the current day so if i have no events left today but meeting in morning it says no upcoming events until midnight. Also when emails come in i want the gmail, hotmail and outlook sync to show number of unread emails (small number on the icon) which i could do on desire but doesnt do on the S2 unless i have a 'general' email icon which says for instance 10 unread (small number 10 on icon) but that could be 5 on hotmail and 5 on outlook. What i want is separate unread details on separate email icons.

3. Error invalid file package when download various apps, seems to only happen when using 3g rather than wifi?

4. Best customization app e.g. GO so can change home screens, font, etc

5. On HTC i liked my main home screen to be the centre one so had 2 screens either side of main home, on S2 home is first of 5?

Sorry if any of this has already been covered. Thanks in advance.

Also if im on a website and want to go directly to my internet home page, on HTC used to go more, home, but dont seem to have this option on S2?

For your item 4 & 5, I am using Go launcher which can do what you want. It can set any home screen as the home page. It also have an agenda widget that shows the month.

Truth though, I like the stock agenda widget as well. The reason is that instead of just one month, you can scroll to the following month. The month counts from the date you are on. The Go launcher is based on the month but you can set it to show the next month.

And you can find the widget that shows the whole month in the add widget section.

For number 3, using 3G, you have download limit size of 20MB which I think is your problem. For number 2, I am not sure how to do that except maybe set up the widget for each email address.

Cheers

go launcher will give you more themes/icon packs but if you want smilar bookmark, calender, people etc.... widgets then launcher pro has them built in. Can also set your default home screen to be 3rd of 5 for example so have screens either side.

In go launcher you can set the 3rd screen as home so that you have 2 screens on either side. Not sure about pro launcher but should be able to.
