Help Movies on Droid X

What types of files do they need to be converted to in order to watch on the X? Also if I have a netflix account would I be able to stream movies onto my phone right off the browser?

I have compressed DVD's to MP4 files using Handbrake (google it). they play just fine on my X.

What settings did you use? Is the audio in sync with the video?
Please note that the following settings are what I used for my old BB Storm1. I copied the files over to my DroidX SD card and they still work. I will be trying to reconvert using the updated information/settings from the 'Know your Cell' link listed above in this thread.

Yes the audio is in sync with the video.

Settings:
Picture tab: W480 x H360 (keep aspect is not checked)
Video tab: H.264 | Same as source | Avg Bitrate 1500
Audio tab: Source= Automatic | Audio Codec= AAC (faac) | Stereo | Samplerate= Auto | Bitrate= 64

I can confirm that some avi piles DO play.. some do not. Must be an encoding issue.

I could play a episode of kim possible, a episode of parker lewis can't loose, but could not play a three stooges short.

I DID find that rockplayer CAN play those avi 3 stooges episodes just fine.

I noticed when I tried to move something just now, that there is a maximum file size allowed.

Can that be changed, and if not, what is the maximum file size allowed? (I was oing to vcopy a 6.5 gig mkv file for test purposes.)

The size limit is 2GB max and can't be changed. It is the limited by the formatting used on the card. (FAT16)

handbrake fails on my computer.

I've since learned that VLC is not only a great player, but it can rip your dvd's :D

Can you reformat the sd card in the newer format that allows larger files, or can;t the DX recognise those?
