How can I get movies to play that Ive transfered over to my sd card, also is there a certain format the movie needs tobe in to play?

There are certain video players on the Market that will allow you to play most video formats on the phone. For example MOBO player, MX Video player and many others. Try one of those to see if you can play the movies no your phone.
