Moving Apps to SD

Your gonna have some trouble doing any moving to SD...... its the way the file system is set up.

SD is external-SD.... its set up weird, not fully recognized by most apps

Dunno yet...

I've moved all my pictures to external-SD. You can move the entire DCIM folder over to external SD and the phone will recognize it, read and write to it there as if it were internal. That has made a big savings for me in space internally, so no problem with apps internal - which is substantial space.

I have not tried moving music over to external, but I'm sure the phone, and apps will read from music ok externally. IF you have an app that saves music to the phone... you may need to shuffle it off internal to external manually... just guessing on that.

I didn't do anything special, just connected the phone to my computer, and moved the files from on spot to another. Worked just fine.

OK so i'm rooted now.

Gemini says my 64GB card doesn't have space (not sure why?)

Titanium says it moved - but there's nothing actually on the sd card.

I'm wondering if the directory structure is confusing these apps.

Titanium doesn't seem to move it at all. Is there a was to specify that the sd card is /sdcard/external_sd/??

Same here idk wth is going on

Yes it's because the phone automatically puts the sd card as a subcategory of the internal memory so far directorybind is the only way to go

Directorybind Easily Binds Internal SD Card Directories toExternal SD Card.

Is there a stable non-brick root for the lg motion 4g?

I didn't root my phone. I'm just trying to move songs and movies to my ps3.

Ok, sorry. I wad replying to mrpnut. I dont use a ps3.

I thought but the lg motion could function as a usb drive for its internal storage as well? I assumed this was the case.

I remember on my verizon droid file expert could share files over wifi, but on the sd card as welk

IMHO Titanium Backup is the way to go.
This app must be one of the top three best apps
I have ever used, if not the best.
It saved my life when I deleted download.apk, etc -
Google Play was auto-killing itself, giving me a few
different shut-down messages on startup and when
I tried to launch it once my Motion was already up
and running. I languished trying to figure out what
the hell to do, but then, after finding out that no
one else was able to fix the .gapps issue (for example),
I remembered how not to derp, and there on backup
was a backup of download.apk, just as there should
have been, and having reestablished this on my phone,
everything was up and proper after also putting
download.ui.apk back on, clearing my cache universally
(pretty much, and definitely anything to do with the
gmail account/play store data); After doing this,
unlinking my phone from sync with gmail address,
relinking it, restarting twice (it's a habit by now,
for safety's sake, whatever you want to call it, I
just do).

And voi-la! Titanium backup is the best thing ever,
and so also does it break through the annoying 'app info'
interference lg has decided to begrudge upon us.

Anyways. Top three. Easily.

Should I use directorybind with Titanium Backup (I am using the pro version) to backup my apps and data? I can't get TB to "see" /mnt/sdcard/external_sd. I am using a rooted ms77010f.

(My upgrade last night from ms77010c to ms77010d and then ms77010f didn't detect root! :D )

Edit: I found it. I connected with my pc (be sure that usb debugging is turned on) and moved the TitaniumBackup folder from My Computer\LG-MS770\Internal Storage to My Computer\LG-MS770\SD Card, and did auto-detect folder! It's still weird how my file manager shows /mnt/sdcard/external_sd as the folder.

To anyone else that has my problem (your get a new lg motion) go to backup/restore, press menu, select batch, and select "Backup all user apps + system data".
