Help Moving photos from PC to Atrix (minimizing file size)

I have some photos on my PC that I want to copy to my Atrix, but they are big files. I want to reduce them in size to be of sufficient size to display properly on my Atrix- but no bigger so as not to waste storage space.

I can always resize them first in Photoshop Elements, but this is a pain.

If I Gmail them to myself to open them on my phone, will Gmail "downsize" the photo files for me?

I use ACDSee because it has a batch resize mode. Whether the pictures are portrait or landscape, I size them to 1080 pixels tall. The files don't get tiny, but they show at native resolution on a 1080p screen. While I was in California last week I hooked up my Atrix to a flat screen in my hotel room to show pictures. At home, I have all my pictures loaded onto my xbox 360. The pictures look incredible on my 60 inch Sony.
