MP3 player besides google music?

I want to be able to DL my own mp3s onto my phone and listen to them. Do I have to use google music player, or can I play them in another way? Like on my other droids that came with a stock music player/mp3 player?

Android = choice. you can customize almost everything, especially if you are rooted. a nice one that i used before is Poweramp and Ubermusic. but i am currently using Google Music

I definitely suggest you purchase Power Amp.
Been using it before public release.

Long time user of Power Amp and didn't think I could do better until I found PlayerPro Music Player its fantastic but you should give them both a try to see which one works for you.

You can put your mp3s on your device and play them with the stock music player. The stock player is the same player it's always been, it just has the ability to also play your music from the cloud if you so choose to upload to the cloud.

An example is I purchase some music from google music. It stays in the cloud, but I can stream it through stock Music player (Google Music) along with the mp3s already on my device. At some point, I download my purchased music from the cloud to my PC (so I have my mp3s that I own) and then physically transfer them to my device so I no longer have to stream them, but play them locally on my phone. Some people choose to upload all or most of their music to the cloud so they can keep space on their phone.

If you don't like the stock Music player (Google Music), there are many choices in the market. Power Amp is popular and is the one I like the best, although I'm actually still using "Music" myself. Other popular ones are WinAmp, dB Player, and doubleTwist.

I use iSyncr to sync iTunes playlists to my phone since I already begrudgingly use iTunes for my iPod. It will copy music for you so you don't have to manually manage your music. Some of the other players, like WinAmp, offer the same functionality of autosyncing (just not with iTunes of course).

Thanks everybody. I figured out I could use the stock player, once I messed around with it, it seemed like it was trying to force me to use the cloud, but I just had not played around with it enough to see I could just use it like the usual stock players. Thanks for all the tips. I do like the playerpro app I DL that as well.

I really dig the stock player, and the cloud is AMAZING(never bought into the "cloud thing"). But i still prefer to have my REAL music. For that i use player pro and its incredible. Its the fastest, cleanest and (imo) the easiest to use. If gmusic used that player with the cloud integration and store than it would easily beat out itunes.

I want to like songbird just because of my fidelio android dock integration, it just looks so damn ugly. . Works well though.
