Whatsup people...

I no longer use my ascend...I have an admire now...but I took care of the ascend (Rooted, CWM and CM7) thanks to everyone here so much that I don't want to get rid of it...what I want to do is make it into a portable Mp3 player like a Samsung Galaxy 4/5...I even bought a 32 gig SD card for it...I was wondering if I can gut the system out of apps that I don't really need anymore? (dailer and text messaging)...what i really want is too eliminate the reception bars on the top right hand corner

Make a cwm backup

Use titanium backup pro to freeze cell related apps one by one.

If it goes nuts you should be able to unfreeze between force closes.

I have a cheap tablet that had dialer and such but no network antenna. I deleted some things rebooted (with an fc cascade) to a perfectly working device with no cell connection. Saves a TON of battery too.

Try these...
If it force closes try rebooting and restoring a backup if it continues some will stop after a reboot though.
[Voicemail] Dialer.
[SMS/mms/apn...r storage
[SMS/mms pref...essaging

Those should be the things accessing network....

There may be more I can't think of....

Oh... reseption bars should be deleteable with uot kitchen.

Just take the icon out of the status bar
