MR2 OTA is expected to released tonight (07/08/11)

Well, I installed the update, the phone does feel a little snappier and doesn't seem to get as hot as before. The GPS still sucks donkey balls tho. I open maps and it show me as 10 miles away. So I try to navigate to some random point on the map to try to get it to lock on and it's been searching for GPS for the last 15 minutes and no lock yet. That sucks! And yes, I have the standalone services on with the google location services.

No update so far. The checking for update screen just fades away. VZ folks did a factory reset--didn't help. They said if the update didn't appear in 2 days, bring in the phone for an exchange. Now, why was it I went Android instead of Apple? TB is a great phone when it's not rebooting during phone calls. Other than that, it's an idea who's time has come.

anyone else's text message alert changed?
also, instead of he VZW data counter, i prefer RadioOpt traffic counter, separates WiFi from 1x/3g/4g data, built in speed test, breaks down tether traffic, and what apps use the most data too.
so far the update seems just fine, even though i never had the reboot issue.
gps locked instantly and knew about exactly where i was at.
like someone else stated, i do notice the 3g/4g kicks in faster now after switching from wifi. i live in a 4g area, but am in a 3g area on vacation so i havent been able to check wether my issue of 4g dropping a lot, or switching to 1x(still did it after first update), anyone verify this?

The fix for the not available message is to switch to 1x via the LTEonoff app and then try the download. It worked for mine.. heard it was a bug in some systems as to why it was unavailable in 3 and 4g..

My text alert also changed, I miss the original one.

Mine didnt change. Still the same as when I got it. Called Zeta? So is the original one. As I have never changed it from when I first got it.

I can't get the update for whatever reason. The checking for software updates pops up, then just disappears. I've tried in 4G, 3G and 1X. I've re-booted the phone, done a battery pull, done a battery pull and SIM card pull - nothing I try gets the update. I'm not rooted and I don't have the leaked version on my phone.

I'm in metro Atlanta, and I know others in my area have sucessfully updated.

Same problem here, 4 Verizon techs and 3 HTC techs later....and guess who has a brand new charge en route for free.. took 3 hours of arguing but well worth it. I may wait to activate the bionic might drop the 28th.... I want to love this phone so bad but by number 3 I'm out.

There's not another phone out there that I'd want over the Thunderbolt, and I really have no complaints about mine. But I have read it's more responsive with the update, and that's what I was hoping for. I haven't experienced the random re-boots, except when I was in NC visiting my folks.

so I installed the update this morning I honestly have not noticed much of a difference in the phone as from before....

Checked for it this morning for the 1st time. I was on wifi, the phone automatically switched to 3G. It found the update on the first try and its downloading now. I think its been about 25 minutes or so and its at around 75% downloaded.

Did the update this AM. Only took a few minutes (mine went through 4G LTE on the second try) and went through without a hitch. Seems a little snappier and the GPS definitely locks in faster and more accurately. Even still shows the Mobile Hotspot icon and clicking on it doesn't show a "need to sign up" screen. Can't tell if the battery length is any different yet.

Saw tonight why they said "reduced reboots" mine shut down for the first time since I updated on 7/8. Hope this isn't the beginning of the return of them. :o(
