Help MR4-DJ07 Prompt

update...have not yet had any issues with screen lock disappearing. wifi is doing great. did have a couple slow loads when out of wifi range and operating on sprint data network, but no problems when I'm on wifi, which I always am unless out of range. And heavy-data apps like Maps have always had problems on the regular data network. overall, I'm happy I installed the update, so far anyway. Haven't had any new problems, fixed a couple I had, and seems to be running faster overall.

So, does this mean I shouldn't expect the update cuz I'm rooted using radioactive 1.8.7 Firmware and meat kernel2.0.3 for build kernel version 2.6.9? Baseband S:M900.8.0S DI06
 
Almost 24 hours and still no lockup.. What I would really like is to root my phone again but I don't think the Kitchen would root the DJ07 .
Also it seems that recovery 3.1.1 can't be installed .. =(
 
Got my update yesterday morning, tried to lockup my phone and couldn't do it. I guess only time will tell since mine would only seem lo datalock at inconvenient random times anyhow.

You will have update your ROM to RADFROYO 2.0 once it is stable. it is being tested now. Or yes go to stock. I just did this morning and I set everything up they way I like without root to test for a few days. I will then start root and theming all over again. So far so good though. No lockups from wifi to data and back to wifi several times at school and at work. Will continue seeing what happens. Good Luck to all!

I just updated yesterday with the upgrade prompt but I am rooted and it ofcourse wouldn't update but stopped the popups. Which is what I wanted to do. If this new update is working good I might just wipe the phone and do this update and forget about root for a bit.

I'm on 1.9.3 and keep telling it to update later. Well, no update prompts at all yesterday, but they're back today (No work on the Sabbath?). Anyway, I've been wondering how to kill it permanently, but I'm still a little nervous telling it to apply.

The other option since your running custom ROM's anyway is to remove the SytemUpdater.apk

using root explorer or ADB. If you are not sure I can reference the thread on SDX. ROSSROM will have it in the next update I believe.
 
I went to the sprint store cause I had an e-ticket number and they're changing my phone for another one.
And while I was there 2 other Moment's users got there and we all 3 were bit ching about the same thing. LMAO
So they decided to replace all 3 Moments but we have to wait until wednesday cause they were out of them.
Today after 2 days almost being back to stock and with DJ07 BAMM! had my first lockup.. I had it with the moment and if they give me a damn intercept I will take it since I will only use for 3 more months then I'm up for an upgrade..
 
Make them give you a transform not an intercept. My wife is taking her intercept back. After hard resets and trying custom stuff she still isn't happy.

I went ahead and allowed the update, which naturally failed. No more prompts. Thanks.
 
In regards to getting a Transform:

2 weeks ago or so I went in for my 4th Refurbed Moment. I tried to get a Transform however they would not budge. They offered me another refurbed Moment, Intercept or Hero. Believe me I fought with them all day ( literally ) about this because I was having all kinds of issues with my phone and I am so sick of swapping out every 2-3 months. My upgrade isn't until Feb 1, 2011. It might have been because it just came out... ::shrugs::

I hope they give you a Transform and if they do I would love to know as the Intercept and Hero are not even comparable IMO to a Moment.

I use WIFI all the time and haven't ever noticed a data lock up because of it. I erally haven't hardly ever experienced a data lockup with the exception of using Google maps/nav when I first got the phone and it didn't like the route I was trying to take different than it wanted me to go. It got it so confused with it trying to reroute me it locked up. And maybe once or twice since. I probably shouldn't worry about it eh? What's with 2.0? I'm really happy with 1.8.7.
 
I rarely had lock ups either. I noticed most when trying to a lot of data right after a reboot. If the phone was loaded it rarely happened. I use wifi as well and had very little problems. 2.0 is simply the DJ07 base. Ideally he is always improving the ROM. that is the reason it changes frequently.

blah.. let's see how long does it take to have my first lock up
 
@Kbrn - I see they didn't offer you a Transform. AHHH Sprint! They won't budge. What crap, imo. Anyway, congrats on your new phone. I'm on my 4th REFURB and hopefully my last as time is ticking for a brand new phone on Feb. 1st. =)
 
Just got DI06 and DJ07 installed, rooted, and new recovery on. So far no issues, mine liked to lock up when tethered, so will see tonight.

Yeah They SUCK.. I was talking to the tech and they also know there's a lot of pissed off customers and the talks about a class a lawsuit.
He said also that this week they replaced 7 moments
When the store manager heard what he said he got pissed off and I bet that after I got out of there the boss got on him lol

And yeah I'm gonna wait for Feb 01 ... since it's my upgrade date too
 
@Kbrn - Feb 1st can't come fast enough! The store that I go to knows of the problems and I guess do their best to help. It sucks. Makes me lose all interest in Samsung. AHHHH... However, I do like the Epic.
 
You won't with that rom. He took out the app that calls for the update. You couldn't download anyway as it requires a stock recovery.
