Dont like ubuntu try other linux softwares there are hundreds lol . ubuntu is just well known and better for crap computers such as ones running xp.

It's not that I don't like ubuntu, I dislike Unity. Every time I download Linux Mint, I happen to download the wrong one LOL. I know an interface shouldn't bug me since I'll mainly be working in the terminal, but it does.

I am going to try and build a kernel that works properly with cm11 not cm12. I just have to get ubuntu installed on my computer, but dreading it because I really dislike the Unity interface. If someone can point me in the right direction of reverting it to Gnome2 please do so.

Also, I need someone to test. This is currently my only phone, and I can not risk a brick.
If you are not worried or have a device that can be used to test it, please pm me. I am going to have a lot of time on my hands starting tomorrow and is hoping to have something ready by the weekend.

Also, I can not message any developers on this forum.
I am going to be needing a little bit of guidance so if anyone can lend a helping hand that would be awesome.
Run these commands from terminal:
sudo apt-get install gnome-session-flashback
sudo apt-get remove ubuntu-desktop
sudo apt-get autoremove

Yet there are far more leightweight distros. I use Ubuntu for development reasons but throw like Budgie on there, maybe Trenta, ect. Another good distro based on Ubuntu is Elementary

I don't have WiFi at the moment and constantly on the phone. Havent noticed any significant battery drain at all....is there an option to change battery to circle with percentage in it?

Might not have noticed it but big battery drain compared to stock...battery even drains while phone is locked.

Try turning on battery saver in cm12, according to Google project Volta should extend battery 30 min
Not much help when Batt life is 2hrs. Our rom needs to be updated to 5.0.1, our kernel needs major optimization, and some other kinks need to be worked on to get CM12 batt life to be great again. Luckily we have great devs like sammyz, chevanlol360, VM03, MikeHoncho and many many more to help us with that.

how should i flash it or like every other rom (4 wipes & flash from sdcard) ?
Yes. Do that, but then flash the su.zip. Then, boot into the device and comment out the multisim line from build.prob then reboot do the factory setting and then flash gapps.

Screen will turn back on. Just try using the power button, not home. However, if you replaced laf, then it's volume up when booting
