Help MS690 Wont read SD card.

Randellyy

Lurker
Normally I am rather good at finding things out on my own but this one really takes the cake!

So for about the past Month my MS690 wont read my SD card. I have an SD card reader and it works fine, but when i put ANY card in my phone it doesn't even flinch. My computer sees the phone but not the card and it doesn't show the USB symbol in the notifications bar. All my drivers are up to date (Been doin this for weeks) Ive managed to do a factory reset, I couldn't do recovery mode but managed to root it without the SD card . But still I cant get a custom/ recovery rom and IVE TRIED EVERYTHING... could it be that a file may be missing that tells the android to read the card  Is there some way I can install the Zip files straight to the Phone.

Thanks a lot in advance.

You may have done this already but, backup the contents onto your PC.
Then try formatting it via the PC, not a Quick Format and make sure it's FAT32.
Then put the contents back on it and see if the phone will recognize it.

Would your USB connection mode happen to be set to Mass storage only?

Another possibility would be the contacts on the phone.
Have you tried cleaning them with a QTip that has been dampened with alcohol?

Yeah ive tried that also. I really dont understand what to do... I cant even get a recovery mode yet... I found something that about trying it with SDK but Im not even sure if it will work so I dont want to brick it.

Try in this order:
1) Back up contents
2) Unmount card from phone but do not remove it. Use the phone's format option.
3) Without remounting the SD Card, reboot.
4) Upon boot, the phone will automatically attempt to remount the SD Card and write fresh system files if necessary. If this works, restore any personal files you have on the SD Card but not any application data. Reinstall apps that had data stored on the SD card.

It doesnt have the mont or unmount options. Im saying its not there. It says sd card removed. So Anything that requires an sd card wont work period.
