Help MTP application

When I plug my phone into my computer through the usb, I get the following error on my phone;

"Unfortunately, MTP application has stopped."

I have tried rebooting the computer and the phone and I still get the error.
Does anyone know what is causing this and how I can get it resolved or to recognize my phone?

Did you ever get this resolved? Unfortunately, I have been having the same problem. I also have a Galaxy Note II, and the only thing that fixes it is a factory reset. I've had to do this twice now in the last week, and it's getting to be a real pain. I think it may be related to an app called iSyncr, that maybe it is corrupting something. Have you been using this?

Thanks

I am also using iSyncr. I got it to work only after doing a factory rest. After the factory reset it work for a while and it screw up again. I got sick of doing factory rests to make it work. I ended up using the wifi on the iSyncr and it worked for me and that is what I have been doing. I hope this helps you.

Great :(

That confirms my suspicions about iSyncr as well. I had contacted the developer of iSyncr last week, and they said "it couldn't possibly be from iSyncr".

Yes, I can still do a wifi sync, but the fact that it disables the use of my USB cable really irritates me.

Thanks

Have you tried uninstalling iSyncr and doing a factory reset and then seeing if the problem goes away after a period of time? That would verify that it is iSyncr.

Yeah, that's my next step, I'm just waiting to hear back from the developer if I have any other options. I'm sick of doing factory resets and then configuring everything again :(

I agree with you. I am fed up with doing the factory resets. Who is your phone providor?
Please keep me informed here as to what you find out and if you find a way to fix it.

I'm on Verizon.

FYI - for those of you that are getting "driver" issues on your PC, it's the same MTP error we are having. Factory resetting the phone fixes the driver issues on the PC. It's not a driver issue.

I've been using isyncr with no problem while connecting to my computer. And that's on my galaxy s2, s3, and note2
