Help Multi Window

I am trying to figure out how to open the Multi Window on my Note 2. It says I can open it in Gmail, YouTube, Maps, Messaging and a few others apps by pressing and holding down the "back key" but I can not get it working.

Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone else has this problem?

What carrier do you have?

I contacted uscellular today and talked to there tech team. They verified that there was not option settings-> display->multi window. They submitted a ticket to have it looked into and to request it for the future firmware upgrade. I also let them know how disappointed I was that the note advertises this option yet uscellular left this out.

You never mentioned your carrier. I assumed you knew if you had multi window. There are a lot of note 2's out there that don't have that option enabled yet. Who knows when we will ever get it.

I also have the Note through US Cellular and no we dont have it yet but I talked to one of the guys at the store the other day and he said an update should be coming out within the month of December.

on another note (no pun intended) are you able to send video through SMS on your note2? Whenever I try it bitches at me saying the file size is to large. you would think the phone would automatically resize it, not sure if its a phone thing or a carrier thing. I know when I had my iphone on AT&T it would automatically resize the video and send it without a problem.

My AT&T Note 2 will not auto resample and make an existing large "Normal HD video" into a reduced file size for MMS.

On my AT&T Note 2, when I launch the stock Camera App to make a video, it prompts for:

Recording Mode:
---------------------
* Normal
* Limit for MMS
* Slow Motion
* Fast motion

So it appears you must have a prior agenda and pre-set the Video mode for MMS.

So in America certain functions of the phone are locked off depending on what network/carrier you use? Seems strange, what purpose do they have for not allowing access to certain features of Samsung's (or any other manufacturer's) phones?

Oh, it's not just locked off...it's just not there. From what I gather, most Note 2's require a firmware update to get the feature. (Except Verizon actually shipped it with the phone on launch.) So far, Sprint is the only carrier to push that firmware out. AT&T, TMo and US Cellular haven't done so as of yet. I'm on TMo and I'm not even going to hold my breath for a Christmas miracle. :(
