Multicon

Hey guys, I grabbed an app called Multicon the other day and I was wondering if anyone else has had a chance to play with it and what your thoughts may be.

If you haven't seen it yet, Multicon is a widget that lets you place 4 shortcuts where you usually can only put 1, basically giving you 4 times as many icon slots on your homescreen.

Here's mine as an example...

you might want to remove mets news from your news folder, it might infect your entire phone with a virus worse than anything else known to mankind!!!!
LMFAO!

I only used it for my main home screen so I could see more of my wallpaper.. Simple icons that need no description (photos, GMail, internet, Youtube, etc).

I had downloaded and found it to be really really slow for adding new app icons and then also opening the app. Maybe it was just me...uninstalled.

It's a cool little app. The only con I've noticed is if you make a mistake or want to make a change to the shortcut, you have to chuck the whole thing and start over. It would be nice if it was easy to just remove/replace one shortcut. Also, a nice-to-have would be if you could add a widget (unread count for e-mail).

Actually you can change just one short cut without "chucking" the whole thing:

1) Launch Multicon
2) Select "Manage widgets" at top of page (you'll notice that the widgets are now highlighted in purple)
3) Select the shortcut you want to change (this will bring you back to your list of programs)
4) Select the new shortcut.

When you are done and want to exit:

1) Select any short cut to take you to the program list
2) Un-check "Keep widgets in manager mode"
3) hit the "Back Arrow"

Hope that helps.

I have been using this for about a week and really like it.
However, if you suffer from fat-finger syndrome you may have trouble but in the week I think I have only clicked the wrong thing once.
One con which isn't a big deal is when you first put the widget on the screen and you click the first one to add the icons, it takes about 5-10 seconds to build the list. The first time I thought it was hanging and had froze. So just a heads up. Be patient.

Well look it would be easy rooting for the evil empire unfortunately Im born and raised a mets fan.... just like half of the current yankee fans or should i say bandwagon yankee fans,.....:D:rolleyes::D

Works great...the only problem I have now is I have a couple blank screens that I'd like to use for widgets, but I'm not sure which ones are worth using. Any suggestions?

I'm currently using:
HTC Calendar
Speed dial/shortcut
Bookmarks (browser)

Any other full screen widgets that don't come stock on the Dinc that are worth downloading? I don't use facebook/twitter etc...

Cool little app, thx...

One question, anyone figure out how to add a GPS toggle to the widget?

The wifi one is great, but it doesn't seem that there is a way to do the same for the GPS...

The notes when you download the program say that he just added the wifi on/off button and if it works there will be more to come. :D

Not to take this thread off topic but I use a similar App, More Icons Widget, which was updated yesterday and supports Bettercut's icon packs.

It also now supports a vertical widgets, shortcuts, system toggles, contacts, bookmarks.
