Multimedia station screen?

I bought my droid used. Sometimes wheb I set it down, the screen goes dim and says its connected to a multimedia station but I dont have one. Its very annoying. Ive looked through the settings but didnt find anything. Can someone tell me how to disable this?

are you setting it down near a magnet? thats what triggers it. I think there is an app on the market that will control your dock settings.

Never near a magnet. It happens when I set it down sometimes.

there is an app on the market (no dock) that blocks the dock from poping up, but it isn't free and requires root, so you might as well delete the app instead of buying this app.

OP, sorry, but the only thing that would make it pop up is a magnet.
is the phone in a case? with a flap that would stay closed with a magnet. does it only happen when you place the phone in a certain spot on a desk or does it happen completely randomly?

youd be surprised what can get that magnet to trip / how easily it will trip.
I've had it do it before laying it onto my laptop once (probably a magnet inside of where I layed it down) also putting it ontop of my girls nook it tripped it off once.

I think you guys hit it on the head. I believe it happens when I set it on top of my case which does have a magnet. If It happens again Ill report back. Is there a way to take the app off my phone?

only if you are rooted..... if so, I'm not sure exactly which APKs to remove. there is Car Dock.apk Dock.apk, and DockServices.apk. I would think just uninstalling Dock.apk and Cardock.apk would take care of your "problam" but I'm not sure what else it might affect.
