Multiple apps at same time?

I have read conflicting info regarding multiple windows of apps at the same time. I read that it is not available in the stats, I also read that it was only available for samsung apps. Is it available in the US Note2, and for which carriers?

I have the Sprint version and it has the multi-window available.

It works with all apps if you're running Stock Deodexed (flashable zip) or a rom that has it built in. Assuming you're rooted, I'm pretty sure there are stock roms (flashable zip) and custom roms (cooked in) available for the T-Mobile, AT&T, and international versions that have this feature.

Thanks for the responses.

1.) Is there a reason you would not want the box checked for Multi Window all the time? Does it use more RAM even if you are not using it?

2.) Can you still use the pen to take screenshots while in multi window mode?

To answer your question, Sprint was the first to launch the Note 2 in the U.S. Initially it did not have multi-view. It came later as an update. I believe all phones have multi-view now; but I'd check that. I'm 100% sure when it comes to Sprint; about 75% regarding other carriers.

1. No it doesn't,

2. Yes but it takes a screen shot of the whole page not a selected area. Meaning I couldn't just do FB at the top or Youtube at the bottom.

Note 2 on Sprint is the only carrier that has their phone updated for multi-view at the moment.

My ATT note 2 does not come with multi-view and im on Jellybean 4.1.1.

I did find a link how to enable multi-view on ATT Note 2, but you have to Root and install Saurom Rom.

Has anyone done this yet?? ^^
 
Thanks North. Has there been any word when there will be an official update? There's so many people new to the Note and new to android in general that rooting wouldn't be a step I'd suggest they venture too.

Samsung makes rooting and even unrooting with this phone so unbelievably easy, assuming you do a little reading. Of course, to each their own, but I've never owned a device with a simpler method.

Edit: I'd also like to add that with Odin, it is essentially impossible to brick this phone.
 
Don't get me wrong, rooting is great; especially if you have some clue of what you're doing. What bothers me is too many people pass off rooting like it's the only answer for everything when people are looking for simple answers.

I've lost count of how many posts I've read that start off, "I'm new to android" or "I've had iPhone since '07" or something as simple as how do you turn the brightness down and every reply comes with "you need to root."

Let the new folks get to know and understand android first.
What may be so easy for some of us isn't the case for others.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I haven't rooted since I first made the jump to Android 2 1/2 years ago!...And I've been able to find solutions without having to root. While I know there are many solutions, after rooting, my personality is not the type to just "try it now and just fix it as problems come." I'm too much of a control freak to do that. I personally need the comfort of knowing as many solutions to rooting, prior to even moving forward with rooting (which I do intend to do, but again, that's 2.5 years from when I first made the jump).
