Root multiple boot animations

I am thinking about reflashing a new rom but I have always wondered why on start up of my phone I still get the liberty screen then it goes to MIUI boot screen. I am guessing I did something wrong to have this happen.

Also am I the only one that has to drive to a home area to reactivate my phone after a sbf. its a real pain and the trip is over an hour. is there any ways around it?
 
In your mobile network settings, do you have "system select" set to "auto"?

RE:boot animation, I think you were supposed to turn that off before flashing a different rom. I think a sbf fixes it, so you could backup your rom, sbf, then root and restore your backup.... a lot of work. There's a way to flash it back too, but who knows where that file is or what you'd call it. Might have to ask that in a liberty thread.
 
How about:
"Data roaming" set to "on"?
"Network type" set to "auto"?

Maybe there's some other setting. I would think it's in this section somewhere.

I'm on MIUI so probably not the best person to be comparing settings with.
