Help Multiple notifcations for one message

When I receive a new email, I get multiple notification icons (I believe one for the 'messages' folder and another for the 'email' folder, etc.) With my BB I got one notification for 'messages' and when the message was tagged as read in that overall folder, it was tagged read in the originating folder as well. I don't want to acknowledge the same message multiple times.

BTW, love this phone and all it does. Leaps and bounds better than my BB in speed, style, and functionality.

is it possible that you have multiple apps set up to check mail? if I have the Google and the HTC app set up I will get multiple notifications. just set the one you don't use to manual.
