Help Multiple POP3 email accounts on S2 - possible?

Just got mine S2 and and all the setup went fine except I am not able to setup multiple POP email accounts. Just one POP3 and of course Gmail.

So are multiple POP3 possible or should I install another email client (if it exist)?

I very quickly gave up on the standard email client but I'd be surprised if even this couldn't.

However, K-9, which is free and much better than the standard client does support multiple POP3 accounts. I suggest you switch and all will be sweetness and light, or at least it has been for me.
 
Great, that's what I had on my iPhone4, but I can't figure out on my new SGS2. Can you guide me PLZ. I am stuck on this one...

Frankly I can't believe the stupidity from Samsung - the POP3 setup ordeal is over, I found it by mistake/playing.

This is how:
Accounts and sync
Add account
Yahoo! Mail
here you can setup your new POP3 account (you will have that choice at the end)

BTW: once you setup more then two POP3 you can go then just to your email folder/icon - press left bottom button and just add more account.

Incredible, but it works. No need for other email client like K9 etc. Now it works same like on iPhone4

Now, I really love my SGS2

Yeah, just found it as well - just posted

The only thing Samsung should change is the Yahoo Mail icon to just Mail icon and that would solve the POP3 problem. Check WWW forums, ton of people have the same problem. I am still pisseddd, but HAPPY
 
There's an easier route to adding another email account. Go into the email app, which if you only have one account is showing the name of that account and "inbox" at the top. Tap on the name of the account which will take you to a screen showing all your email accounts (you will only have one). Menu button, add account, and enter your email details there. Bingo, account added.

From now on when you open up mail it will take you to the screen showing all your accounts so the situation doesn't arise again (you can add as many accounts as you like here).
 
I am sure I tried that million times, but add account wasn't showing till got two accounts setup - after that it was there.

No, the page showing your accounts doesn't show up by default until you have more than one account. However you can navigate to it by simply tapping on the name of the account when in your inbox. From there you can add another account via the menu button.

This worked great thanks, except I have a different username to my email address on the pop3 server I am logging on to . Is there a way to get the from field to display my actual email address rather than my login account details?? (perhaps I need to try K9 for this)

Cheers for this info - worked fine - but I still can't get my POP3 account to work? When I enter all the details, passwords, etc. I get a message coming back saying: "Connection failed, mail test failed because the connection to the specified mail server failed. Check your mailbox settings (3001)? What the hell does that mean? I've checked my mailbox setting - all is ok and I'm getting test message etc, via PC and MC Outlook. Getting pretty miffed here - can anyone help?

but can you see all your pop accounts in one integrated view or do you still have to click on each individual e-mail box to see the mails in each box?
 
Hi all,

Just visited this thread to resolve the above issue. My problem was not being able to access the "manual setup" option. it is quite easy in the end, but finding it was the difficult bit!

1. Go to email (default email button in applications)
2. If you have multiple email accounts, on the page that lists them, tap the + button to add an account.
3. Put in your email address and log-in password.
4.This is the bit that took ages to find. Scroll down and UNTICK the "push notification" box. this miraculously brings up the manual set up box on the bottom left.
5. Fill in the info, bearing in mind you have to go to 3 separate pages in total (the forward arrow at the top or Next button) and bingo you have pop3 email.

This should work for all S2's, although has ICS loaded from the factory.

Hope it helps someone.
 
I have a Samsung Galaxy S II

After struggling with changing my yahoo password, I decided to install the full yahoo mail app, and delete my current access within the email app.

Learned that downloading my contacts may not be the best choice, and that there wasn't an easy way to stop the loud and annoying sound alert for arriving email from the yahoo emaol app. Uninstalled it.

googled email pop settings
copied down info:
pop.mail.yahoo.com (port was wrong, should be 110)
smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port was wrong, should be 587)

tapped on email
could see existing email account, then pressed [=] button
which revealed Compose/Add Account/Delete Account
tapped on Add Account
user name is full emailname@yahoo.com

Does incoming and then outgoing, then finishes with specific options

Enjoy

(this took place over a 2 day period)

You're not wrong!! I've been looking for this for days, thank you for posting it, email now setup no problem. :)
