Help Multiple problems.. System update/voicemail

1. Ever since a system update last year my phone has been going haywire after a reboot. EVERY time I get a popup to "Install a new system update" but no matter what I choose, nothing happens and I get the popup later. 'System updates' says there are none, and I'm using android version 2.3.4 (kernal 2.6.35-g55a06e5 Thu Aug 18 2011)... whats the problem?

2. Voicemail. I hate it. Ive used Google Voice (unknowingly) since I got the phone but I just recently discovered that the app wasn't even downloaded from the market.. I downloaded and nothing changed from what I can tell. I still miss a call, get a stupid email delivering the voicemail which opens in my internet browser and downloads as a freakin mp3 that plays in my music player?? wtf?

I've tried disabling/uninstalling Voice and tried switching back to Verizon voicemail but it doesn't work.. it still goes through Voice, it's such a hassle and the transcripts are always wrong, really wrong. I just want to dial my voicemail and hear the message

please help

edit: I'm also getting the 'Low on space' notification :/

To install the update, follow this link: http://androidforums.com/incredible-all-things-root/181255-how-return-stock-gingerbread.html and download the file linked for 2.3.4 (under the "option #1 " heading) Run the program as instructed in the thread.

Doing this will completely wipe your phone, and consequently get rid of your low on space issue. More info on that issue can be found here:
http://androidforums.com/incredible...e-phone-application-storage-notification.html (page one and page 12 have the most useful info).

To deactivate google voice you have to go to http://google.com/voice and at the top right of the screen there is a little gear looking picture you can click on to access voice settings, and from that page you can deactivate the google voice account.
