Help Multiple repeat texts

Newbie
Every single text I receive I get twice. Literally every single one. When I 1st got the phone it happened. Then I went through a span where it was fine for a while. As of last week its back to every text coming in twice. Any idea's?

Are you with Cricket or MetroPCS? It's a common problem that the carriers are working on.

I use GO SMS and I don't have the prob but not sure if that is why.

You might give GO SMS a shot. It's free at the market. :)

I'm w/Cricket, using stock messaging. The only time that happens w/me is incoming text from Blackberry users, regardless of the service provider. WEIRD!

I've been wondering, what is the difference between the different messaging services? Isn't a text a text? Is it worth the hassle of changing just to make your text messages prettier?

I have Cricket and it happens to me too. I use to use the Stock Messagin app and I now use GoSMS. I don't think it happens with GoSMS. I'll text people with different carriers tonight to test it.

The difference is that with the apps like Handcent and GO SMS you have more features and customization. It's just much better than the stock messaging. Try it and see for yourself. I think they are both free at the market. :)

Nice to see i'm not the only one lol I'm with cricket btw. When I had my flashed BB Storm on cricket I tried the GO SMS but it would send texts to that as well as the stock msg app. On the android is there a way to shut off the stock msg system to just use a market one?

Hey Dark. You can run into probs if you freeze or uninstall the stock messaging so that is not recommended. Just disable all notifications and alerts on it and be sure to check your messaging app you are using as your default. That should stop it from interfering. :)

I'm with cricket and haven't ran into this text problem yet, but have only been with cricket a little over a month so I hope it stays away from me, since all I do is text :)

Had the same problem a few weeks back, got same text every 15 minutes, called MetroPCS and they did what they call phone reset. Hasn't happen since.
