Root [Multiple solutions] Where the !@#$ is the rom I just put on my sd card?????

AM2

Android Enthusiast
Title says it all. I'm rooted and ready to rock, and now I can't find the damn rom I just put on my phone. If this is related to this whole sd card on the phone but not on the phone, external, sdcard, sdcard2 bull ish, then I'm really now seeing how it's a real pain in the azz. Please someone direct me to the location of my rom. I can't find the right file path obviously

I have to put things on my internal memory to show up in recovery. I'm sure you can toggle to SD card in recovery, but I'm too lazy for that yet :p

I have to put everything on my internal sd card. Everything I want to use in recovery, I mean. When I try to use my sd card I put in the phone I just get a blank folder, in TWRP recovery. Put it on your internal and everything should be peachy keen.

I think the newest version of TWRP has the sd_ext fixed. You should be able to go under mounts and storage and mount your sd card, files should show up then.
Personally I haven't tried this yet, I just move stuff to the internal memory. :)

Download esfile explorer from the market and just cut and paste the Rom over. Easy peezy. :)

If you download directly to your phone using Boat Browser, you can specify the download directory, and use EStrongs File Explorer, long press on file, Properties, to verify the checksum (highly recommended).

CapThrowback verified on XDA that TWRP supports the physical sd card now, but I don't know about CWM.

Yes, you can mount the SD card in recovery. :D

If using TWRP, it is as follows:

Mount<Mount SDCard (make sure you check "Using external SDCard")<Mount USB Storage

Quick call out though - it's best to put anything you plan on flashing directly on the internal storage, as there is noticeably less delay in flashing from there as opposed to external. And hey, what flashaholic doesn't want to save a minute or two?!

There is one HUGE downside to putting ROMS, Kernels (and anything else of importance for that matter) on the internal storage, so keep the following advice in mind whenever you choose to wipe the phone between flashes..

DON'T ERASE THE STORAGE!!!

The option to do this w/i stock and Sense based roms is under Settings>Storage: Phone Storage.

As recoveries and superwipes become more evolved for our LTEvos, I'd imagine someone is going to make this a more visible option as well. Good rule of thumb is to keep everything backed up to your external. It may cost you a few extra GB's, but for peace of mind, it's probably worth it.

This whole thing is sort of a challenge to me, probably because i am not a linux guy.

I have read some in here and now I know what you meant by windows not seeing some of the partitions. I made a nand and wanted to transfer just it to the pc for safekeeping. Well, I couldn't see it.

I stumbled around and found it and copied and pasted it to the real sd card and transferred it from there. This is a class 4 card I just picked up to have one with this phone and pasting the nand unto it was a longer process.

The Regaw method did install the version of TWRP where the usb transfer works, and I can see more of the phone with the pc. I need a tutorial on it, but am trial and erroring stuff and I am not sure what i am doing or what exactly i am looking at. I need someone to draw me a picture... :p

I did dl the htclinkify zip and when I went to flash it, I had to navigate to the download section of Dolphin. And it worked, by the way, thanks for that.

Yes, it's ok to navigate into folders (aka subdirectories) to get your flash image unless the dev specifically tells you otherwise (rare, but it happens).

I recall we have a TWRP with pictures somewhere around the forums, one of us will track it down and link or re-post it as soon as we can.
