Multitasking.....where?

What is up with the lack of real multitasking on the S4? I tried the multi-windows mode but it's so sensitive if you even come close to it the the stupid menu slides out. Even my old Thunderbolt allowed more multi-tasking. When you're on a phone call, it's terrible. When I move to a newer smart phone things like this should progress, not regress.

I have yet to find anything better than swipepad https://play.google.com/store/search?q=swipepad&hl=en for multi tasking. You can open any apps in top of any other and then go back without loosing anything. (I disable the Samsung multitasking on my note2 as I find it too clumsy to use)

You made a claim, then made a comment about something only indirectly related, then made another ambiguous claim.
If you are more specific, perhaps someone here would have a solution for you. Unless you compare it to another S4, you'll never know if there is something wrong with your phone.

I've had no problems using multi-tasking on my S4. (It works really well, although I wish more 3rd party apps, that I use, was supported.) There are two was of doing it. Using the stock Multi-tasking mode, from the toggle selection or by holding down the home button. It sounds like your referring to the stock multi-tasking. If so, after you open the two apps on your screen, hold down the back button and the multi-tasking tab will disappear. To get it back, just hold down the back button again for it to reappear.

When in a call, press the home button and you go back to your home screen. From there you can do anything you want and the person is still on the line. When I do this my notification bar turns green and has a little phone symbol. I suppose this is so that I don't forget that I am on a call.
