Multitasking

Seems like the Droid charge doesn't have the ability to multitask with certain apps. Most google apps like youtube and the browser do not continue running when i click the home button. This worked perfectly fine on my original droid.

Yeah, lack of RAM is going to bring a speedy EOL to this device.

So, the OP was talking about the ability to multitask on 256MB of RAM using his Droid, versus the 512 that we have...just sayin' Obviously the point of his post was that we have MORE than enough to do the same stuff that his old phone could do.

Also, I know it's not a phenomenal amount of memory to have onboard, but the amount available to the user is more than what was on my Galaxy S, and that phone was more than speedy enough.

Regardless of how much more RAM we may have over the OG Droid or the Galaxy S, this phone still multitasks about as well as a 5 year old hopped up on caffeine. When I open the Android Task manager (long press on Home) it has as much RAM as my wife's Fascinate (actually a little less) and despite the fact that I have a better piece of hardware, her phone still multitasks much better than my Charge, both phones are rooted with Voodoo lagfix. Just sayin...
