Root Multitouch Fixes for CM7?

Ive seen that there has been some fixes to the Multitouch on Motorola Triumph, the best benefit i got out of this fix is being able to play Dual stick Games on my Triumph, i am running MIUI just because of the fix i am using the SpeedDemon kernel for the HD fix I prefer CM7 because i like the feel of pure Gingerbread but there is no kernel for cm7 that contains a fix for the multitouch im really hoping some will be able to make a kernel to apply to cm7 for this fix i am assuming it will not be such a hassle since it was all ready done for MIUI. HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP!! PLEASE!

If I'm not mistaken, Mantera has probably already got something going on in his CM7 kernel. If not, it wouldn't be difficult for him to add it. He's already got the patch.

I know he has the fix in is miui kernel, but I can't find any mention of it in his cm7 kernel

changelog:
TheOCv1.5-wip-2.zip
- added Isaac's updated touchscreen driver

among other things...

Ok, I'm confused. I'm currently using Tickerguy's CM7 vB.07 (have been too lazy to update to the final B.08 but I will soon). Is this something I can add to the CM7 to fix the touchscreen wonkiness?

If so, where is the thread or info on doing so. I assume it's just another zip that has to be installed through recovery after flashing the ROM?

Thanks!

edit:

I see this thread:

http://androidforums.com/triumph-al...nel-v3-5-now-contains-hd-fix-miui-kernel.html

But that appears to be only for the MIUI users. So I'm still confused.

Its a few posts down,
but it says for the 11-19 build of CM7. You might as well update since its the final build of CM7 for now.

Thanks for the quick response, and I know I could ask my question in the other thread but I'd rather do it here...

I have no interest in overclocking. If I install this after updating to the last CM7 build, can I just ignore the overclocking portion of this kernel. Like will it fix the touchscreen and everything else will just work as I'm used to in CM7?

thanks again!

You can keep the max set at 1024 (stock) and yes it would.

Ok, one final question (hopefully) and then I'll leave you all alone. :)

Lets say I DID want to try and do a bit of overclocking now that I have all of this installed. How would I go about doing so? I don't see anything extra installed after flashing the OC kernel zip, do I need to download something from the market?

Thanks again!

In CM7, you don't have to install any 3rd party apps if all you want to do is overclocking/underclocking/setting the governor. Go into Settings --> CyanogenMod Settings --> Performance --> CPU Settings.

In the CPU settings, you can change the Available governors, Min CPU Frequency, Max CPU Frequency and once you are sure your settings work on your phone, you can then check the box for Set on boot (but don't do that until you've tested your phone at those settings for a bit to make sure they are stable on your phone).

I would recommend changing the governor to either smartassv2 or InteractiveX at the very least. I get better battery life with InteractiveX than with smartassv2 but your situation may be different.

Otherwise, if you also want to change the I/O scheduler, you'll need to install No Frills CPU from the market to change that setting. But as a starter, you can probably just stick with the CM settings until you feel comfortable.

After that, you can try undervolting too. Some people swear that it helps their battery life tremendously and others say it doesn't make a difference for them.

Thanks a ton for this detailed response. I didn't even think to go into the performance settings.

Maybe I'll muck with them a bit when I get some time, although I'm often timid when it comes to OCing.

Thanks again!
