Disable it. That's what I did on my wife's since she has Smartkeyboard installed.

If you are using the droid X keyboard, it will not work in froyo. You can try smart keyboard from the market as it has multitouch.

I suspect we'll have to wait for the Droid X to get 2.2 for a working version of its keyboard. Fortunately it should be coming soon.

A bit off topic but didn't want to start a whole new thread on its own, the IME keyboard isn't working either and the stock keyboard it laggariffic again on this forum argh...

The stock keyboard is FTF (for the fail)... *sad panda face*

For aftermarket keyboards you can try to uninstall/reinstall to see if it cleans things up.

For stock? I don't know. Maybe try a reboot if you haven't already.
