I first bought my Optimus about two months ago and had issues, critical issues with data not connecting and heavy battery drain. Yes I tried all the tricks to get it on the data network/stop the battery drain. So after 3 or 4 tickets and lots of calls VM said they'd send out a replacement phone. Then yesterday my new phone arrived, great I thought. I charged it overnight and got it ready to activate.
Following the direction of "support" they said I should call to activate the new phone when it arrives. So I call support and we start with the activation process. A few minutes in I discover part of the screen isn't responding to touch. I couldn't press 0, 7 and a few other keys on the lower part of the screen.
In a bit of a panic I'm transferred to technical support. I explain what just happened to this next guy and that I was in the middle of activation. So he has me troubleshoot the new phone only to tell me that he's sorry he'll have to send out another phone?.. ok I'm thinking at least I still have a phone that works! I explain to him again that I was half way through activation on the new phone and that I was afraid I'd get disconnected as the new phone was half activated. I'm assured no it'll be fine. He "processes" my order for a replacement. Again I raise concern that I'll get disconnected and again he tells me all will be well as the new phone never came on the system.
I hang up and guess what... text messages won't send so I check for a dial tone and guess what. My phone isn't working
. So I call support back this time via skype as I've no phone and after much confusion skype hangs up on. I call back once again explain what's going on they set out to activate my old phone. Right at the end of activation in true matrix digital voice blur I get disconnected as the old optimus attempts to get itself on the network.
I have to admit I was getting frustrated right up till the end.. I had to laugh at the digital voice blur as the optimus kicked me off wifi and came online properly again.
There I feel better now lol.. maybe it'll be 3rd time lucky with the phone!
