Help Music App Going Rouge

Girevik

The music player app on my new G3 keeps starting up all by it's self. I initially thought the widget I put on one of my screens was getting bumped somehow, but I removed that and it's still happening. When this happens it replaces my lock screen wallpaper with the album cover of whatever song it on, and puts the controls in my pull down drawer.

What's more, I can't find a way to shut it down other than first going into it and then going into "recent apps". I don't see any kind of shutdown in the dropdown controls or in the ap it's self. Can anyone help with this?

I'm with AT&T, if it matters.

Not sure if I can offer any assistance, but does this happen randomly? At home? Away from home? In a car?
Just trying to see if there is something in common when it starts.
Maybe you set one of your volume keys as a shortcut to your media player?
Just throwing some ideas out there :)

I've not noticed a pattern. I'm about to see if I can delete the ap and find another music ap, but I thinkg it's a stock ap they won't let me delete.

Yeah, I thought about suggesting to clear the cache and the data from the app, but honestly, I'm not sure if that would wipe your music. I've never tried/used that music app. I don't **think** it will wipe your music, but not 100% sure.

All my music is on my sd card, and I can sync that from my computer anyway, so I'm not too concerned about that. I can clear the data but it's not an app I'm able to delete. At least not without rooting.

Ok, this is getting annoying. I disabled the music app and started using Google Play, and it's doing the same thing. There's GOT to be something that starting it up.

Hi I have always used PowerAmp on my smartphone's with the stock music app disabled, but with my G3 when I disable the stock music app and then I try to select music or ringtones from file manager they wont play so I have to keep the stock app live, but I don't seem to get any problems with using PowerAmp the stock music player never starts up and it always picks PowerAmp first. the only thing I can suggest is to rest the phone, I don't find this a big thing any more as every thing is backup with Google and other backup apps, I do a reset and then hit restore and I'm back how it was. Sorry for blabbing on

Grrr...now it's started happening with my podcast ap. Is there ANYTHING that could be telling the phone that I want to listen to something? Today it even happened while sitting in the cradle in my car while I was using GPS. It just seems like there must be something getting pressed causing this.

I may have finally found some info. I need to verify that's what it's doing to me, but I've found reports of audio aps automatically starting when Bluetooth connects. I do have my phone paired with my car, so this may be what's happening. I'll try to verify that when I get in the car this afternoon.

If this is the case, the next step if figuring it how to disable this.....
