Music collection from iPhone to Galaxy S2

Just another big thumbs up for MEDIAFIX (free app on market)!!!!!

I use isyncr to transfer 27gb of songs from itunes to my S2 sd card, even after that, I had 700 songs with unknown artists. I almost cried. Then I came across this app called mediafix on the market, thought it was a gimmick at first. I installed it, ran it, and within 3 minutes, I have no more unknown artists! I thought I was absolutely dead meat because of my mac computers, the unknown artists devastated me because I'd have to spend hours and hours and hours trying to re-tag stuff, but mediafix came to the rescue... :)

Isyncr is merely used to transfer the files it is not a media player. It just copies music to phone. You can play music in any media player, whether one in phone or one u download.
From what i can tell it picks up any playlists on pc then you select and transfer, when its on phone you can delete playlists if u want and just have as library like u have.
I haven't tried copying whole library, i just did couple of random playlists, worst case scenario you'll just have to create one and drag & drop everything into it to transfer onto phone. Like i said, when on phone (music player dependant) you can just delete playlist and have the music as a library!

Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

When you say:

'worst case scenario you'll just have to create one and drag & drop everything into it to transfer onto phone'

Do you mean create a new playlist in iTunes, then just drag the full library of music (still in iTunes) to the newly created playlist?

After I have done this initially, and I am just wanting to add the odd CD or a MP3 track or a folder that contains an album. What is the best way and the easiest way that you's lot find to add them onto the S2?

I suppose with a CD, I could rip the CD with Windows Media Player, and from there I would have the folder on my PC that contained that particular album.

I was lucky enough to have the guy in the Carphone Warehouse in my town show me the S2 today.

He let me put my Shure earphones into his S2. The layout of the native media player I found very good. The only criticism I had was it did not seem to have the same volume level (didn't go has loud) as the iPod on my iPhone, don't know if anyone else has noticed this?

He showed me various apps that seemed very good. A really useful one he showed me is called Cover Art Downloader. He had some albums on his S2 that had blank cover art, he ran it, and it filled the cover art for the albums in question.

I asked him what the battery life is like on the S2, and he told me 'too be honest its pretty crap'. But I suppose you have got to take into account the dual core processors and the large screen will use a lot of power, he did go on to say that he played a lot of games. Saying that though, his battery showed 55 percent, and it still showed 55 percent after he had showed me the various things and went on to the Carphone Warehouse website and on You Tube too.

My music collection is much too large to fit on my phone so I had to use a playlist with iSyncr.

Just create a playlist for the music you want on your phone, drag the appropriate albums and tracks into it and sync using iSyncr. When you want to add or delete tracks to or from your phone, add or remove them in iTunes and then sync again using iSyncr.

I was able to click on the "music" tab in isync, which contained 27gb of music, and had that directly transfer to my micro sd card (with isyncr installed, and using the isync app within the micro sd card) via a usb adapter. It did seem to froze once, but I quit, restarted it, and isync continued syncing where it left off.

I didn't want to mess with double twist to be honest- I prefer iTunes.

I selected all the albums I wanted, created a playlist and dumped them in. Transferred with isynr.

I play mine through poweramp (app) which has an eq and a gain boost. It's not bad, but it's not really in iPhone territory to be honest.
Decent headphones are a must, and the volume still won't be cracking.

I just google'd about low music volume level through earphones on the S2.

Apparently there is a code you can enter, and then alter some values. This is supposed to increase the volume level, but it apparently resets to the default level when the S2 is switched off.

Boosting the volume is one thing, but a lot of these apps just boost the gain which can cause distortion from the device (sometimes mistaken for poor headphones, but it isn't always the case).

Its just something I'll get used to soon enough. Maybe I'll invest in more cotton buds!
