Help Music file format

Lurker
I've just bought my wife a Samsung Galaxy Europa GT-15500 and I tried to put her some music into it that she had on her old Motorazr V3i. It was in mp3 format that I had ripped from her CDs. This new phone reports that it does not support files of that type.

Can anyone please tell me what file format is required and, maybe, how to rip her CDs to that format.

Thanks

My daughter as this phone and she puts her music on in mp3 128bit and had no problems. I'd make sure they are mp3 format first. She uses itunes on the pc then transfers them to the phone connected to pc.

Hello

Thank you. The files I ripped were in mp3 and play on her old phone and on her MP3 player which is a Sandisk Sansa. I tried the iTunes and got nowhere. I am beginning to think there is a fault with the phone. Thanks again.

I have some music on my Europa in MP3 format. I think I used the Samsung Kies software to do the transfer. Did you use that software? I am not expert in this area, but I know that MP3's can be encoded using various standards, such as Lame - perhaps even though the Europa supports MP3, it doesn't certain types of encoding?
