Help Music getting quieted on notification?

jagris

Newbie
When ever I have music playing through the jack of the phone to the car and I get a notification the sound gets turned down. The sound starts off at a nice quality and level for a while, then if I get a text message or an email and the notification plays the sound level will drop considerably. It doesn't come back for a while either. I am talking about hours later. Anyone know a fix or have the same problem?

CM7 with TickerOC Interactive X.

Press Pause/Stop ...Unplug the Jack...Plug jack back in...Press Play

Enjoy

or turnoff all ringtone notifications when listening with a jack

its a software bug. i absolutely hate it and usually when im in a situation where the music is playing, im NOT in a position to constantly unplug the jack to get the volume back.

i like to set my phone down and have a few hours worth of music play while i work.

unplugging the jack or turning off notifications is not the solution to the problem. they are band aid fixes and to be honest most people, in real world use, do NOT want to constnatly reset the volume by unplugging or pausing, and also do not want to risk missing important messages.

my phone plays music over the stereo where i work and i need to hear the notifications because 90% of the time its a possible job i need to get to. cant miss those, thats money.

Heh, so maybe this phone really does suck? I always attributed that to a Pandora bug, I don't really listen to music stored locally, just Pandora. And that was always annoying. Fortunately the email app tended to "crash" enough, where it worked but would never fetch new mails, that it didn't happen as often as it could.

I also thought the constant 1x -> 3G -> 1x crap was the VM network, but apparently it also is the phone.

I'm beginning to think the Triumph is a big piece of crap just like people say. I used to think it was people being picky, some of the complaints early on were things like the screen flashes if you turn it on -> off -> on quickly, or light bleed-through in the notification area, fairly trivial stuff like that. But there seems to be more and more to legitimately complain about, that I tended to assume was the network, the app, etc, but really may have just been the phone.

I use to do that fix too, but it stopped working a couple of weeks ago... Well I have the person riding shotgun do it, maybe she just isn't very good at unplugging a jack. I agree with Shmack though, this shouldn't be a problem. Is it CM7 or the phone? If I am on a long ride with spotty service, or someone is texting me that I don't care about I just throw it into Airplane mode and let it play.

its a software problem its been fixed in some ROM, idk if that was a froyo or 2.3 based rom. maybe it was ICS. but its not a hardware issue.

yeah great idea except that it doesnt work. also its still just as tedious if the phone is playing music in the office over the stereo and your in the shop with dirty hands.
It would work fine for me every time.

Granted it doesn't help the dirty hands/other room issue, but it is helpful for many people.

On a side note does anyone have a problem with moisture on there screen? It is about 99% humidity here and so there is water that collects on the screen while my phone is just on my desk and it messes with button pressing. Does anyone else have this problem?

I've fixed it by pausing pandora, going to the home screen, and then returning to pandora. Works fine after that and a little less hassle.

if your running cm7, g60 had it fixed, then it came back, the newest CM7 G60Style r0.11 Final is supposed to have it fixed again

normally pause/unpause is the fix

but you can try going to the latest g60 and see if its still there
