Help Music Help!!!

Hi guys, I have a Samsung vitality SCH-R720 running Android 2.3.4 Recently I have lost the ability to play music. My ringtones and alarms work and I am able to set my mp3s as a ringtone and listen to them through the set ringtone settings, however I am unable to get sound through the music player or from any games or music apps. I have tried a hard reset and restore factory defaults but this has not helped any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

It sounds like it's a hardware problem to me. These phones are pretty old by cell phone standards and are all probably getting close to the end of their life time. Do the headphones work? If so I'm guessing it's your speaker that's a dud
