Help Music Player Question

Just a quick question. I am in love with all the reviews I have seen about the G2X but I wonder.........I have tried the myTouch 4G and had to return it due to the fact that the version of Android it had would have one super annoying thing. If I had music on (through headphones or car) and I received any notification at all (SMS, E-mail....etc) it would full pause the song, play the notification tune, then play the song again. On a drive or so, this is really irritating....Will the G2X be doing this as well? Thanks!

Unfortunately that's how Androids notification system works. It won't be any different. Sorry

Not sure about the stock music app (or other music apps) but Cyanogen Rom music app has 'Focus Loss Ducking' under the app settings. this will make it so the music doesn't pause but rather lowers to play a notification tone. you can set the attenuation amount too.

Hope that helps.

You could always switch your phone to silent or vibrate when listening to music. This doesn't interrupt music play, & this is what I do when @ the gym.

You guys should try Poweramp, I believe it's like $2.00 or something and it offers what you're looking for and it's a way better music player.

I have had poweramp for a while....and as far as I know it still does the same thing...it'll pause while playing the song if you get a message

I hope that this new google music or whatever fixes that.

We shouldn't have to go through all these changes just to enjoy music

But I'm sure there are people like me who wants to be notified about phone, text msg, email while i listen to music. Afterall, thats why i bought a phone to begin with.

I have PowerAmp (and love it), but there's no option to keep music playing while a notification happens. It's just an Android limitation, and a pretty crappy one. Surprising that they haven't at least fixed this with Froyo.

I don't think it its a bug. It is a phone after all. What about you have incoming call while listening to music? Should the user by notified?

But it would he nce for PowerAmp to have a feature to disable other notifications while listening to music. so everybody would be happy.

You should be but it's annoying listening to music then it rings thru head phones, I rather it ring through the phone.

Also, it's annoying when you get a notification...whatever it may be and the music fades out and plays the notification but when the notification finishes, the music has still been playing.

it should automatically pause
