Help Music starts after hanging up while on bluetooth?

JeepGuy

Ever since one of the updates a few months ago, when I would end a call while using the bluetooth, the music player would turn itself on. Sort of startling when you're not expecting it right in your ear like that. Anyway, I saw somewhere to try installing MortPlayer and turning off the "continue on plug" option under headset. (Because the default music player does not offer that option) That helped for a while, but now it's doing it again.

I have a plain Verizon Droid and a Motorola H17 bluetooth if that matters and I'm not rooted or any other mods.

Any ideas on how to stop this annoying behavior?

I think it has to do with the type of control the BT headset device offers. Do you ever use your headset to listen to music at all? If not, do this.

Go to Settings --> Wireless & Network settings --> Bluetooth settings --> then long press your BT device until a menu comes up, then --> Options --> Uncheck media.

If you *do* use it for music as well, then try this: remove the device, and re-pair it. if that doesn't help, then remove it again, then re-pair it, then manually start your music player, then stop it again, then stop it, then have someone call you to test.

I'm pretty sure the OP means that it starts playing regardless of whether it was playing before or not.

At least, that's how I interpreted the OP.

Notice how the OP states that the music player "...would turn itself on....", indicating that it was not already running previously.

Johnlgalt is correct, I had not been listening to music. I found the setting you suggested and will see if that fixes it. I suspect it might. Thanks!

I actually found it accidentally - I used to use a Plantronics (monaural) BT headset, and my phone started doing the same thing after I once accidentally played music while it was paired and the music came though the headset. After that, it would start automatically.

I searched high and low, unpaired it, then got disillusioned with it and gave up - but happened to be searching for something else, and long pressed that particular device - and saw those options. I tried it and it seemed to work then....

I'm having a similar problem with my Motorola Droid, but I have a wired headset - Plantronics MX150 (which I bought directly from Verizon). I used to love it, but now its giving me issues...

When I have my headset plugged in (only when plugged in) and I try to call someone, it rings for a second, automatically hangs up, then the music player opens up...its the weirdest thing...

Does anyone know why is this happening and how to fix it?
