Help music stops playing

Same issue here with Google Play Music app. It would stop after 1 or 2 songs with the phone set down and not being touched. I started using Poweramp and haven't had it stop once.

I'm having the issues on multiple players, the native Music Player & BeyonePod. I will however try Poweramp. Do you use the free Poweramp or the paid version?

i was also having this issue and stumbled upon something on another site (cant remember which one now).
Anyhow what worked for me was to go to settings-application manager and find the app DRM Protected Content Storage and disable it.
after doing this the i didnt suffer with any more pausing.
hope this helps :)

I had the same problem after enabling voice commands. I had my player on shuffle and the song "Stop! In the Name of Love" wouldn't work. Everytime I played it, it followed the song's command and stopped. I turn it back on once in a while to show people for a laugh.

As for your deal, I have no idea what's causing it. Mine plays fine on 4.1.1.

Nightmare all players affected and I was no longer abler to play music on the S3. So did a soft reset (battery out whilst power on), that seems to have fixed it, lets hope it remains so.

I am using the paid version, but I had bought it for my old Droid X quite a while ago.

Also, I have factory reset my phone several times due to other issues, but that didn't fix the Play Music problem listed here.

I've merged a couple of threads on the same topic. Some posts may appear out of place as they have been placed in chronological order. My apologies, I hope it doesn't cause too much confusion:)

Where are people storing their music ? Is it on the internal card or external? I had this problem with my original galaxy s. Realised that it was only music on the external card that was a problem. Turned out to be a slowly worsening issue that the phone had reading any files from the external card. Eventually I was unable to access virtually any type of file on the card.

FYI, the Google Play Music update today addresses the S3 hanging issue:

Haven't tested it yet.
