Help Music storage?

OK, so I'm finally going to add some music to my Rez. I know I want to put it on the SD card but is there a specific file path that it needs to be in for the Rez to play it or will the phone automatically find it? Also, how do I get the music player to stop playing sound bites, voice recorded msgs, and other sounds in the phone? Thanks!

I do it a little differently and created a '"Music" folder on my SD. It made it easier to edit.

I don't have the issue you described. All the other sounds don't play only the music. Check your sound settings and app settings for possible conflicts.

I have close to 400 songs on my Rezound...Just connect cable to computer and download..never had a problem...works like a charm.

Being old school... I have my tunes all under the mother folder "Music" on my SD card. I then have sub folders by artist with sub folders by album with the tunes. I keep my tunes structured the same on my PC and it makes it easy to add and subtract tunes on the phone when I desire a change.

ext_sd/music/beatles/white album/songs.mp3

Thanks everyone!!:) I was able to just go through my itunes, mark the songs I wanted, right click and copy then paste to a music file I created on my SD card. :D

I also use the Music folder/group name/album and i save my Favorite playlist for some groups folder by using windows media player and saving them as playlist name.m3u in each folder so the songs show up on my playlist in the Rezound music player..

To answer the second half of your question:

By default, all sound files show up in the music player and all pictures and videos show up in the gallery.

To stop this, simply go into each folder you don't want indexed and create a new file named .nomedia - yes, period at the front. Or create the file externally on your computer and copy it over to the various folders on your phone. This file tells the various players/viewers not to index the folder for media files of any type.

Typically you'll want to put a .nomedia file in /sdcard/download/ and /sdcard/ext-sd/download/

*Do not* put a .nomedia file in the folder where your ringtones and notification tones are stored, or they won't be available for use by the system either.

The following folders should be used to store the appropriate types of system media files, and are not indexed by the music player by default.

Alarms
Notifications
Ringtones

Not all ringtone services store their files appropriately. Create these folders on your SD card (internal or external, but not both), if they don't already exist, and move the system media files into the appropriate folders. Note that all these folders may exist under a top-level folder entitled Media on your SD card, which is acceptable, and the default on some phones. Many applications (like Facebook) don't store their sounds in /sdcard/media/notifications/ even if it already exists, and instead store it in /sdcard/notifications/ by default, so you may have duplicate folders depending on your phone. It's OK to consolidate, and it won't hurt anything.

After a reboot, only the files you want displayed should show up. Any questions, feel free to ask.
