Music thru USB port in car

I used to be able to plug my old Samsung fascinate into my car stereo's USB port and play my music thru my car speakers. I guess like an auxiliary method.
Does anyone know if it is possible with this phone? I tried but can't get it to even recognize my phone when I plug it in.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I read your post and decided what they hey, I'll try it with my car and my radio recognizes it fine. It searches the sd card and plays music, so I know it's possible, but it may be a radio issue not a phone issue.

I sell Kenwood car audio. They made an app you can download for free from app store. Once on your phone even not opened up it allows music to played thru the usb port. You connect the phone once its recognized choose the option on the phone that allows "Disk Drive". You basically want the phone to think its transferring files. Now that being said its not a universal usb app. This app works on Kenwood and Jvc Radio's as well as Pioneers. Its a free app try it let me know how you make out.

No joy with the app or trying different configurations on the phone. Connect to PC-I tried them all.
