Help Music won't delete from phone!

Hi everyone! I'm having a really annoying problem lately. I've noticed that songs I've deleted are still on my phone and most of my songs have been duplicated.

I have a rooted Evo 4G and have recently switched to PowerAMP Pro. I use Media Go to sync files from my computer to my phone with the USB cable.

The songs I wanted to delete do not appear on any playlist that Media Go syncs to my phone. I've gone to my phone's SD card and made sure that folders from previous media players were removed. I also manually deleted the unwanted songs from the SD card and then cleared the data from PowerAMP. Even after a restart, the unwanted songs still show up and play, despite being unable to find them anywhere on the SD card.

These unwanted and duplicated songs are hogging my SD card's free space and it's annoying to have to skip through ten songs just to find one I actually like. Can anyone think of a solution?

I have 2 basic solutions. First is to go to app manager and open up both music programs wipe cache (if any) and data. Reboot phone. IF songs still show up then on to solution number 2.

Format the sd card. First you will want to save the contents of the card on to your computer. Formating your card will destroy all data on the card. You can format it under SD card settings (erase all data) or preferably remove card place in card reader and in windows rclick the drive and choose format (be sure that Fat, or Fat32 are the filesystem your formating to) click start and allow windows to format it. The place the card back into your phone. Before placing anything on the card open up the music programs and see if they have now removed the unwanted songs.

I believe the problem is syncing. anyway the best way to avoid these issues is to use Google Music. Music is stored on their servers and streamed to your phone. No wasted space for music. Streams have been first rate IMO. I have had only minor issues when I have no signal. Works great and I don't have to sync.
