Must bid you farewell...

I too must jump ship from the Samsung Moment. It's been a long hard road.
Got mine originally the day after launch. Over a year and 4 replacements later I've had just about enough. It was great as my first android phone. I will always remember you *sniff* *sniff*. But now it's time to take a step up.
So as of today (coincidently the day after launch) I am officially an "Evo Shifter". :p

Corny?? I know. I don't care. My phone works now...

Initial Impression: niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice

ahhhhhhhh! lol. good switch, havent used the new Evo shift but i jumped ship this past friday onto the Samsung Epic 4G and love it.

Moment go byebye forever now.

I'm really debating on ditching mine and getting an Evo, but want to see what new phones are coming out soon.

Ijumped ship, but still leaped back, and today the Optimus-S is returning due to defect, , will be hopping to another Keyboard phone, not keyles and buttonless.

I need a talk and end buttonand keyboard.

One ay they'll make a touchscreen On/Off LMAO!

I'm thinking about waiting till the 17th, and getting the evo. Then if they announce anything decent at MWC in Feb, I'll take it back with the 30 day thing.

I might do that as well. I really think I am going to get the Evo though since it's been out and seems to be pretty stable.

hat was wnhat I id updated, andsent back will b allowed to reupdate when I am agai nready. tehn that may be the final, if under a 45 day period.

@Pasta - Thanks for all your help here this past year.
I played with the Evo shift the other day and the keyboard is nice & smooth.
It looks to be a nice phone!

I am also about to bid farewell to my Moment in 5 days.
I am soooo counting down the days and I have decided to get the EVO.
I can't wait!!!

Thanks again!

Well I just got my new Evo Shift.. UPS guy just delivered... I'm not saying Bye to the moment cause I will keep it as a back up just in case since I hate paying insurance and We can upgrade every year =).. It might be the chance to play with the New rooms and the Froyo port..

Are those Push buttons, the Four?

Yeah going back to bigger, when we're weregetting smaller, soon we'll walk with Big tabloids .

think we're at that state LOl

You will all laugh when reading the next sentence, I know this is ridiculous!

I am currently using a water damaged Moment running 1.5 (LAWL) I got it last April, and my upgrade is coming up, not soon enough I might add.

What I am getting at is, does anyone know of the new phones coming to sprint this year. I really like the EVO, but if something similar yet better is about to drop, I'd hate to pick up another out dated android device..

Nobody knows for sure. Sprint is making an announcement of some sort next month (the 9th? Correct me if I'm wrong there), but nobody knows if it's going to be a phone, plan, tablet, or something else entirely.

As mentioned, there's the "another first" announcement coming 2/7 and if you can wait for CTIA at the end of March, there's a good chance you'll see a few new Sprint phones. The Evo is ~9 months old, so a replacement is bound to be announced sooner than later. There are already rumors about a Galaxy S replacement floating around. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Epic had a much shorter lifespan than the Evo, similar to the Moment vs the Hero. Superior hardware undermined by inferior support.

@Kbrn - Congrats on the Shift. I played with it in the store to see if I wanted that or the Evo. The keyboard is nice.. I mean it's a smooth slider. =)

@Pasta - I will see you in the forum... I will have to learn how to root again. I think I might wait this time around and use my phone without root for a couple months before I jump into it. I know it's much easier to root than the Moment or so I am told.

Oh and 1 MORE DAY until I get my EVO. What a nice early birthday gift I am buying myself. heh. I'm jumping up and down. I am selling my Moment to Sprint or running it over with my car... I haven't decided =) LOL

This site is pretty good about upcoming phones:
Upcoming Sprint phones - Phone Arena

I'm not saying it's 100% but it is damn close, I would assume that there are not any new phones coming out for the time being, I think it's a tab or even worse an iPhone. VZW has already announced their iPhone 4, so it is possible. The iPhone 5 will be CDMA and 4g......

its been great here and you guys have provided a wealth of knowledge, thanks and hope to see some of you in the Evo shift forum

I jut got a brand new shiny EVO Shift and i LOVES it.

no more cdma locks, no more crappy GPS, random reboots ETC.

good luck to you all and take care :)

Thanks! we'll wait for you @ the Shift forum!

I'm keeping the moment cause I still like it as a toy or Mp3 player instead of an iPod (yuck)

Gah i must have really missed the boat seeing how i didn't even know they came out with a new Evo that has a slide out keyboard.

I am about to upgrade my wifes phone (she currently has the HTC Snap..yea i know..lol) and had intended to upgrade her to the EpicG mainly because it had the full slide out keyboard which she said she wanted, but now i can check out this new Evo and see which will be better?? I know they Evo shift apparently just came out, but compared to the Samsung Epic Vs Evo shift which would truely be a better buy? And why?

I am also just about ready for the full upgrade (think i have to wait another month or two) so i will probably be getting either the Evo shift or Epic
