^ I've actually found the latest updates to Google Voice to be better than Vlingo ever was......

Anyone know if there's an app in existence that doubles as a home theater/tv remote control?

PowerAMP is my favorite app so far.

I tried that app, but every time I plugged in headphones or an auxiliary cable, it would start playing the last song I was listening to. Didn't matter if I had killed the app, rebooted the phone, or not used it for days, it would start right back up. Pissed me off, so I just uninstalled it.

ya my only beef with vlingo is that you have to have the screen on and app open to 'wake it up' and also once you say search NHL scores, you go to google but then its all touch screen from there on in. I wish they can integrate voice web navigation too. and i wish you could wake it when on standby. if those two things were part of it I would pay good money for that app!

also google voice is not ready in canada yet :( just tried

I tried PowerAMP and was disappointed. It didn't download album art as advertised. The EQ feature was a plus but what good is this feature if the volume of the app sucks.

DoubleTwist is a more powerful app.....................

I don't see it that way. Vlingo also does punctuation. Any half decent voice app will work with the person speaking slowly and clearly enough.

You can turn the volume of the app up in the preamp. IMO it's the loudest music app and I've tried quite a few.

You can turn it off in settings btw. :)

I assumed you could but I will delete any app that forces itself upon me like that on principle alone. That is unless it is vastly superior to its competition and this app is not.
Sorry if I come across as grumpy but: It is vastly superior to it's competition. :)

It has settings for prettymuch everything you can think of. My main reason though is the sound quality. The eq/preamp is just fantastic. Plus I like plugging it in and having it just turn on right away :)

ok guys i am looking to start this tread for you non typical apps as in apps other ppl might not normal see or look for but are useful. For example i know alot of ppl use like pandora, astro, shootme and ect. Lets name some off the block apps that others might find fun or useful.

I kick it off with two that i have found...... GARDEN OF WEEDEN. you get to grow your own little pot plants. Another is FATBOOTH where you take a pic of someone mainly their face and can make them FAT lol.

Are there any apps which will allow me to directly stream video from my PC at home?

I'd love to be able to watch all my downloaded videos streamed directly from my PC.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciate. Thanks guys!

I'm referring the watching it via 4G.

Thanks.

Orb streams pc vids to your phone in HD, if you use 4G, automatically.

If on 3G, it streams in SD.

Soon, hopefully, it will stream in a codec that the hdmi out can handle so we can stream our pc vids anywhere.

They have portable hdmi in projectors too. :)
