Must have apps for GNex and ICS

Is there a way to get the led to flash even when the screen is turned on when using light flow?

TIA

What's wrong with Google Navigation?

I don't know how this works in the States, but I live in the Netherlands, and cross borders regularly, Google Navigation needs to download maps and the data roaming costs are just too high.

I also found Google Navigation being a bit inaccurate in calculating my position, thinking I'm driving on parallel roads and such.

It does look good, but isn't just there yet, rather I'd be using TomTom on my phone, but they're just too slow in getting their app ready.

My can't live without apps:

1. Animated widget pro (even though you can put shortcuts for contacts on the screen natively now, they still don't work the way I want them to).
2.Chrome to Phone
3. Gentle Alarm
4. GeoQpons (saves me enough money every month to pay for my data package).
5. Pure calendar widgets
6. SyncMyPics
7. Tasker
8. SemiSilent
9. SoundHound Pro
10. Square
11. Woofi

Dialer 1 for legit speed-dials. Google Wallet for the useful factor. Cut The Rope (almost as great as Angry Birds). Words Free, Facebook, TweetDeck, and KeyRing.

Last one didn't work on my Droid X (it ran but the X wasn't scannable so I never used it).

Keyring works on GN? I also had it on my DX but never used it beacuse it never scanned

There are some that work, some that don't, same as with my DX. I've found that Walgreens and PetSmart worked well, but Martin's didn't because they had the scanner that you have to lay your phone on, not the "gun" kind. The "gun" kind of scanners seem to work more consistently. Works the same for me on my GN as it did on my DX.

one of my MUST haves is google shopper. ITs pretty pro. But i am really new to any smartphone let alone android. I am still learning. This is my first

if you're a dialer one fan, try exDialer. i used to use dialer one, switched to ex and haven't looked back...the dev for ex updates it once a week if not more. dialer one has been on the same version since what seems like 2007.

plus, exDialer looks nicer, has theme support and can clear missed call notifications (with notigo installed)...

After reading about it here, I tried Light Flow and its been great so far. And Tesla LED.

This being my first phone with a front facing camera I also got the Skype for Android app (not the Verizon one), and got to try it out yesterday with my sister and her kids. Worked pretty good (Skype often seems to have issues so I would attribute any bugs to them before assuming it was my phone), and I was told my picture was clearer than when I'm on my laptop at home (wired in).

Those are the only 3 new apps I got specifically after getting my Nexus. Everything else is just the same stuff I was using on my Droid, but they're still good and some of the games and live wallpaper look a lot nicer on this phone.

Edit: just added Google Wallet, but haven't tried it yet.

Skype doesn't work very well on the nexus...my girlfriend and I use it but we can only see each other if she calls me. If I call her, I can see me and she can see her and that's it.

Tango is very good, however...

Am I the only one who's having battery issues with Volume+ and also battery issues with LightFlow? I tried them separately and saw shorter battery life with each.

I did notice one issue - I ended up with 2 video windows, the original full size one became like a background still shot, and a smaller window opened up with actual video. Eventually it went back to 1 full screen video.

But like I said, I've had problems with Skype on a computer too, so I'd blame them first. It really annoyed me that they made group video a premium service before working all the kinks out.

it doesnt go full screen (home button on side still remains on right side) but quality of video is much better, so i use HD version.
i d/led HD version from xda site, and there's 2 type i think 5mb and 6mb and 6mb one works on stock GNex.

Volume + -> must have to fix low volume
swiFTP -> transfer file thru WIFI
astro file manager
juice defender
antutu benchmark
android assistant

Camera zoom FX -> you can set volume button as shutter button, also stable shot fixes blurry image
google wallet
Mx player/dice player ad -> plays almost all video formats
Power amp -> best music player, and you can set any song as ringtone.
ICS Browser + -> more option than stock browser
skyfire web browser 4.0 -> if u watch streaming video like thru tudou etc, this fixes blinking.
tubemate -> download youtube video as video or MP3..

skitch -> let u draw on photo etc
netflix HD
widgetsoid -> u can set widgets on notification bar, including turn on/off data

ultimatefavespro -> cool 3d turnaround app shortcuts
tawkon -> SAR warning
plex -> similar to drop box but it let u use ur comp as server
remote+ pro -> let ur phone to control computer

ES File Explorer
Terminal Emulator
Samba Filesharing (way better than airdroid and wifi file explorer IMO)
Dolphin Browser HD
Nova Launcher

I like lightflow, but I just don't need a million different notifications that never disappear... Swype is excellent, Google Wallet is really cool too. Rom Manager is a must as well.
