Help mx player + mkv

hey i was trying to play a mkv file on my A500 and the video plays but i get no sound tried the same file on the S3 and it plays perfecrtly on mx player with video and sound. When i installed MX player it said it needed some addons from the market which i installed also. Was just wondering if anyone else was facing the issue?
 
Two THings - Try changing from the HW to SW codec -
Also - there may be a sound file...click the top right corner see if any sound options pop up.
 
changing it to S/W helped but the sound and picture are out of sync and the picture is very laggy. Is this a known issue with this tab? It plays all other files great.
 
i tried 2 files it was out of sync on both. Just to be sure i copied the files off the pen drive onto the internal memory of the tab and they still lag. The same files play perfectly on the S3 in mx player.
 
I have always had bad luck with MKV files and i just gave up on them myself...

I am good to go on MKV files (thor jelly bean build 23)

I have had issues playing them through Able remote to my GTV though....

I haven't used Thor's ROM fr quite some time is it pretty stable these days? I was just reading there forum last night.
