my android won't charge

I have a Samsung Galaxy i717. It won't charge. I bought a new battery; I got another usb cord, but the phone still won't charge. How do I fix this? I think the problem is inside the phone. I have been without my phone for nearly two weeks now and I am getting quite desperate. The AT&T store here just went out of business so I had to order my new battery from New York!
Any ideas? Should I just send it back to Samsung?

Do you have insurance on the phone still?

Sounds like the charging port has went bad unfortunately.

Just wondering, did you try both the wall charger and a computer's USB port? Just to rule out one of those sources being the issue...
