Help My battery life is not what it was!

I have everything turned off when I don't need it (4g/3g, wifi, bluetooth, GPS, etc.), my brightness is at the lowest level, I have most of the bloatware uninstalled with Blot Freezer, I have background sync turned off...I tried every battery saving technique I found on the internet.

Something just does not seems right, after my battery gets below about 80% it really drains fast even when I hardly use the phone. My battery life used to be fine (last the whole day on moderate use), but just recently I can tell my battery is not lasting as long.

I am rooted (no custom ROM) and running Genocide kernel 1.1, can any help me please? The battery is not old because I got the phone 2 months ago.

Its probably an app you recently installed. I know that the app words with friends kills my phone even if i dont use it. Try uninstalling any recent apps that you installed and see if that works.

Also you could try watchdog light. Might help you track down what is running. Although on gingerbread leaks a lot of stuff seems to run through the core or media server, but it's a place to start.

The only app I recently downloaded and installed was Google Maps. Is that sucking my battery life? Also, what is the normal battery life for the Epic? I get anywhere between 12 to 15 hours on moderate use.

Although, I have been experiencing faster battery drain since flashing the Genocide 2.0 kernel, even when using the Voltage Control app...

Does Google Maps cause the battery to drain fast? That is the only app I installed on my phone recently. I am getting (with the Genocide 1.1 kernel) about 12 to 15 hours of battery life, is this good?

Google Maps is going to turn on GPS, which is a major battery hog.

Could it be that your battery has gotten old and just isn't packing the charge it once did? Especially common with non-OEM batteries.

Not if you have GPS unchecked in your location settings, right? I leave the GPS turned off (home screen, menu --> settings --> location) and when I bring up Google Maps, the GPS does not connect. Only when I enable the GPS in my phone settings does Google Maps actually use the GPS. And that is only when I have Google Maps open. If I turn my screen off then back on, I see it re-establishing the GPS signal.

recalibrating the battery just is a placebo. I never have and i still get 13 hours after flashing about 20 times in the last 6 months on a daily basis. ( and I have a life wall paper on)

I bought ebay extended from US seller. Now I am running 48 to 50hrs with lots of use. I did shut off 3G data updating and using Juice defender. I can't kill this think now. 6.99 purchase. New back and thickness I actually got used to and luv the ability to grip it. It is how it should have been from samsung.

Maps has been sucking battery power since version 5.4. Even with Latitude disabled, it continues to access the GPS in the background. Completely disabling the GPS at the phone level SHOULD be unnecessary since it only turns on and uses power when apps need it. Fix this, Google.
