My Captivate stopped working yesterday. I was using it and it completely froze on me. So I restarted it. But now the phone won't load back up. It goes through the start up AT&T splash screen and then to the Galaxy S screen and after that when I put in my unlock pattern it does nothing. The screen will be blank after I put in my unlock pattern. And then after a few seconds the screen will turn back onto the unlock screen and go then in a few seconds it will be blank again. And it keeps doing it over and over again. If I go to the AT&T store or Best Buy and tell them what happened will they replace my phone. I do not have insurance or anything on it though.

Did you modify your phone in any way? Froyo? Mess with the root? etc?

hmm depends on how long ago you bought it, if its still within warrenty/guarentee and its a geniune fault theres no reason why they shouldnt replace it, provided of course its not been rooted or had any other firmware flashed on it which would void the warranty.
If you want to try and sort it yourself you can try flashing the stock firmware onto your phone (use google there should be a guide on the net).

try pulling the battery and leave it out for a few minutes, put it back in and try again. if that doesnt work who knows odin may fix it. if not you can call samsung and they will have to replace it probably

If that doesn't work your phone has a one year factory warranty. Just call at&t and they'll give u the number for samsung warranty. You'll be sent a refurbished or"supposible new phone with a different label under the battery.
