My complaints

So when you are on a call and you take the phone away from your face the screen just turns back on, without needing to be unlocked, ready to use the keypad or hang up?

Adding to this old thread.....yes, that's exactly what happens for me. Mine doesn't "lock" or "sleep". As soon as I take the phone away from my ear, the screen comes back, ready to use.

1. im kind of mad i cant use my old text message ringtone that i have saved on my sd card... on this phone i guess you can only have message tones that are pre-loaded, tell me if im wrong, please!

Welcome to the forums!

There are all sorts of ways to place ring files at various points on the SD card and they're supposed to be used automagically. Many people expect me to know this as a sorta Android expert or something.

Here's what I know instead - I use Rings Extended - it's free in the Market, and here's a helpful writeup -

Rings Extended - Android app video review - Erik Fikkert | Appolicious Android App Directory

It doesn't include other rings, it's not evil - it's just a little helper app that says - "Hey, phone! Extend where you're looking! My file is over here!" though a little pop-up dialog in any of the places where you might go set a ring tone.

Pretty handy.

I have an Evo, so the path may be different - but under Menu-> Settings-> Sound (or Display&Sound, or Sound&Display, etc) - do you have a Volume selection?

If so, you might twiddle there and find you can raise the volumes for alarms, rings, media and notifications independently.

Hope this helps!
