My custom Droid car mount

Newbie
I've had a ProClip iPod mount in my 2005 Infiniti G35x for awhile, so once I got the Droid I decided to add the Motorola Car Dock onto the ProClip, as I don't like suction cup mounts. I cut a plate out of aluminum bar stock, drilled the appropriate holes, and painted it black. Both the iPod and Droid are on swivel mounts. Droid dock mounts via standard Dual T-Notch GPS mounts. Comments appreciated :)

Looks awesome!
I personally would be more interested to see your actual handiwork...like the pieces you cut and fashioned also. The final outcome looks very professional

thanks. There was only one piece that I had to make, which is the black plate that extends downward from the ProClip.
This is what the ProClip itself looks like

I simply bought a swivel mount + holder for the iPod, then combined Motorola's car dock and standard GPS mounting parts (swivel mount, and dual T-notch plate) for the Droid. ProClip manufactures a horizontal extension plate but it would not have been long enough for what I wanted to do.

Does your leg/knee ever hit there? I'm 6'5" so I don't know if that would work for me, although G35's have pretty good legroom, comparable to my car (09 Genesis) I still hit that area when I let my legs rest.

I was concerned about this issue when I was planning to built the mount, but it hasn't been an issue. I am 5'11 though. The plate could definitely be repositioned further up though. Do you have the Genesis sedan or coupe?
