Help My first post! Battery question...

Pontius

Lurker
Hello everyone. I'be been lurking for a week here, trying to learn Android and my new awesome EVO. I'm loving it so far, but I'm still working out my battery issues.

I downloaded and installed Battery Indicator, which provides a battery life % in the status bar. When I was at 35%, I shut off 3G, 4G, GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth. So the only thing left was the phone itself. I turned off the screen and actually got some work done for an hour :D I didn't touch the phone at all during that hour. Then I checked the battery and I was down to 25%.

I had read that some folks here are losing only around 1% an hour when idle, so does anyone have any ideas for what else I can do? That's a big battery loss when the phone is just resting untouched with no internet connection.

Sign out and disable auto-sign in on google talk.

un-install any task killers.

Install "Juice Defender"

Disable automatic screen brightness

etc etc etc, or just buy bigger batteries and be done.

Do you have the facebook app running? Also how are your accounts and sync?

I don't have task killers, and my brightness is set to like 30% with the auto feature shut off. Also, does it matter how my account-syncing is set up if I have 3g, 4g, etc turned off? Won't those apps realize I'm offline?
