You must have a bad one, my g3 displays the Google homepage so.bright I have to turn the screen down loads at night time..

its just screen calibration at the factory it was made in. its just a bit warmer display. compaired at bestbuys floor displays of g3 mine isnt that bad .

theres also an app i use that adds a overylay to make the whites seem better.
 
My screen has very accurate whites. Not yellow tinged at all... My Galaxy Nexus was quite warm and I used to tweak the colors to make it look the way my G3 does. Maybe some quality control issues?

There's ways been a ton of variance in color temperature in LCD screens, even of the same model. All the way back to my BlackBerry days, I had a phone that was swapped out under warranty, and the replacement was a completely different color temp.

I think the screen on my G3 is spot on.
 
For OP: I did the exact same comparison at the Verizon store with my G2 vs the G3 and got the same results. It is the primary reason I didn't purchase the G3.
 
Ironically, the Qhd is why LG is selling a lot more phones, so they made the correct decision for the rea$on they exi$t :)

Just wish they would release a "low spec" version with everything but the Qhd :) Even the picky Anandtech and GSM noted the G3 would have been the closest to perfect yet- had LG used 1080p.

Note 4 is next. My guess is it will be an amazing device hindered by being locked down and bloated. Verizon style!
 
Sorry if you've mentioned this already, but is auto brightness enabled? If so, are you aware that the G3 has a scaled brightness when enabled? There seems to be a difference if you open brightness and slide to 100% vs say 50%. My S3 would immediately uncheck auto brightness if you touched the slider. The G3 stays checked and seems to limit the max brightness based on where you adjusted the slider.
